Dice-Warrior
After his shaky vomit inducing start against the Texas Rangers, Daisuke Matsuzaka is back in business and right on schedule for his next start Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians.
Dice-K almost chucked in the middle of chucking his 10th start last Friday. But I beleive we’ve underestimatedd the friggin AMAZING feat we witnessed that Friday evening. When they said he left with stomach nausea, I figured he was being a trooper for hanging in as long as he did…but slowly the details of his condition emerged.
Not only did he have the flu, which is the worst feeling ever, but he was ralphing between innings!
And with sheer will he managed to get through five…to keep weight off of the bull pen and to secure his win…AND he still sent Catalanotto packing in the fifth with a blazing fastball.
Terry Francona from MLB.com: “He still managed to somehow throw the ball 95 mph past Catalanotto in that fifth inning.”
That my friends, is not just good, thats superhuman.
And in his humble explanation of his performance, this is what Dice-K had to say: “I tried my best to take the team as deep into the game as possible to fulfill my responsibility as the starter, I regret that I ended up being a burden on my teammates (Friday). I’ll do my best to prepare for my next start.”
WHAT?? Is this guy a Samurai or something? And we’re supposed to LIKE Barry Bonds?
Hey pro athlete dickheads, take a lesson from this guy…
